The first weekend in Seattle

I have been in the mall(Alderwood Mall) twice this weekend. Saturday I went with my host mom to Alderwood Mall to buy food. The mall was so big - there was everything (many different sorts of frozen pizza etc.). We buy fish, meat, fruit, vegetables, bread etc. I get surprise when we came to the cash desk and the check-out assistant packed the commodities in bags, because in Denmark the customes packed commodities in bags themselves.
(here you can see how big it is)

Alderwood Mall (here is a link: http://www.alderwoodmall.com)

Sunday some(12-14 students) from the class decide to go to the mall together. We meet each other at 12:00 o´clock. We stand the first hour in the eating area and talk about our host families and experiences. Most of us have experienced that it is not common that you and your host family eat breakfast and lunch together. We eat lunch together and then we are ready to go shopping. Some boys from the class buy a sweater in Abercrombie & Fitch but some of the girls have to take their bags, because the boys get low self-esteem, when they see the hot boys on the bag. :)

It has been a good weekend i Seattle and tomorrow is first day at Edmonds.

My new home

I live in this house. The house is homely and clean. The house is in a safe and comfortable area.

This is my room upstairs (there is only one pillow. I have expected a lot of cushions):
Tonight I slept 12 hours - it was so great, because I was so tired.

This is my wardrobe (it is ready to be full of new clothes)

Wow today this trip is reality

I have only sleep 15 minutes since we leave Billund airport and I still awake, but my eyelids are heavy. I sad near the window in the airplane, which result in that I have a beautiful view over the sea and the mountains. Everybody was happy and excited to visit Seattle and their host families.

When I got the stamp in my passport and the man behind the counter said: "Welcome to America". I thought wow - now I´m in USA for the first time in my life and I´m going to stay here for two months. We waited for our suitcases. The dog, which was running around, could smell something in my handbag. It means that the policewoman checked my handbag and found rye loaf (in danish: rugbrød) with meatballs. She wrote at a blue slip of paper this result in that men in the security had to check my suitcase and handbag and weighted the meatballs. You are not allowed to bring any kind of food to USA if you haven´t document it. I got off with a warning and an unforgettable memory about the first 10 minutes in Seattle.
We had to wait 30 minutes in the airport, because the bus, which should have picked us up, was broken. The spirit was still great and most of the students brought coffee or smoothie at Starbuck. When we arrived with a new bus to Edmonds our host families stood there. I was so excited to meeting Pam. Pam is a open-minded and sweet woman. She drove me around the area (to the beach, the mall etc.). I live also with a student from Japan (I will tell more about her later, when I have speak with her). The first dinner is real American. We eat at a restaurant with burgers, fries, soup, wraps etc. I order a classic burger with fries. I taste very good, but I have to take a doggy bag, because the burger is so large and there is so many fries.

The first day in Seattle has been full of influence and experience

My eyelids are so heavy. I looking forward to sleep!

Welcome to my blog
- and my experience in USA

1 day left - I can´t wait ! Yearh say it again: 1 day left!
I sounds really good

Since I have started at Gymnasium, I have count down for this trip.
The suitcase is ready to leave, which means I am ready. My suitcase weighs around 17  kg and in my suitcase is my trolley(little suitcase), which means I can bring a lot of stuff home when we return. :)
I can´t understand that tomorrow morning at 4:30 am I stand in Billund airport with my mother and father and say goodbye, because I´m leaving Denmark, my family and friends for two months.

I have a lot of expectation for the for trip to USA, but I have no idea how it will be, because I have never been outside Europe. I have seen a lot about USA in television and movies and heard a lot from other people but I really looking forward to experience it on my own body.

When I received the letter from my host family and I got a good feeling. I´m going to live with a single mom, who has a lot of hobbies. I have checked my email every day since I have sent my host family letter to my host mom but I haven´t receive a email from her, but tomorrow I´m going to meeting her.

I´m not nervoes but very excited

The best advice: Enjoy, because it´s one in a lifetime !
