Weekend: October 26th-28th

Friday: Halloween party
Instead of saying halfway done, I say halfway left. On the side I can´t understand that I have been here in a one month but on the other side I think I have been here over a month, because I have so many unforgettable experience in this month - so I looking forward to another month in United States with more fantastic experiences.

Only one class today, which was Study Lab = a really nice day in school. After school we went to Alderwood Mall. Simone, Line and Trine went to the Mall after physics lab. We met each other and ate "dinner" at Blazing Onion about 3:00 PM.
(We join and dress up at Simone´s host mom´s house before the Halloween Party at the school.)

The popular/well-known Danish class at Edmonds Community College to the Halloween Party:
(Believe it or not but we ask some student to take this picture of the whole class but in 2 second there were about 30 other students taking pictures of us. We are famous! :) And many people ask you: "Can I take a picture with you?" I have experienced that Asian people like taking pictures. )

I was impressed that everyone has found a nice costume. There were five categories of best costume; most scary, sexiest, most sustainable, most inventive and best overall. Annica(cow) won the most sustainable, Mathias won sexiest and Jeppe, Nicklas and Tobias won best overall. Proud of my classmates !
We dance and have fun to the Halloween party :)

Saturday: Hiking
First stop was Snoqualmie Falls:

Next stop Rattlesnake Ledge, where we went hiking:

(If you look close you can see a smile on my face. I like spending an afternoon in the nature; hiking to the top of the mountain with my classmates.)

(Some people weren´t optimistic as me, because sometimes there were rises in the ground it was hard for some people, they get rapid pulse or lactic acid in their legs, maybe they have eaten too many burgers or haven´t exercise (haha) but everyone hike to the top.)

On the top of Rattlesnake Ledge:
(We ate lunch(pizza, sandwich, chips and nuts - a big lunch bag) at the top.)

(It was rainy and foggy but anyway there was a beautiful view.)

Good weekend full of new experiences !

Paragliding

                                                            7th October: Paragliding

Today I went paragliding (it is the first time I try extreme sport) !! We have planned to do it yesterday, but the wind was in the wrong direction, so it wasn´t possible to paraglide. Trine, Elise, Line and I were very excited but we also were a little bit nervous, because extreme sports involve a certain danger. We met the instructors on the landing field and took a shuttle bus to the Poo Poo Point of Tiger Mountains.

See the beautiful view from Poo Poo Point and the sun shone:

The instructors were very professional and gave us some basic instructions, so I feel comfortable.

Ready to go (run and run and keep running down the hill):

WOW.. we were in the air
(I was the first person!)

I can´t describe in words how I felt. The flight was short, because there wasn´t enough wind BUT it was unbelievable and an unforgettable experience. When we touch the landing field, I send as soon as possible a text message to my mom and wrote that it boggles the mind and I haven´t no broken legs or arms :)

Monday: Seattle and Chinatown

Monday after school we went to Seattle downtown.
We went to Seattle Public Library:
(The 11-story(56 meters high) glass and steel building. The Public Library can hold about 1.45 million books and others materials.)

(Outside the building looks beautiful but inside it is also designed on modern lines. The escalators are lime coloured.)

(On one floor everything were red.)

(You can go from first floor to eleventh floor. We did it :) )

For dinner we went to Chinatown (in Seattle downtown)

(We tried to learn how to eat with chopsticks.)
(We ordered different menus, because then we can taste as much Chinese food as possible.)
(Soft and crispy noodles, two kinds of meat, rice, chicken, Chinese spring rolls, vegetables and prawns     - Our stomachs were total full! )

(For dessert we got this kind of cake with a paper inside.
On my paper: "Financial opportunity lies ahead."
- I hope it is true :) )

(We couldn´t eat up, which result in we got a bag as doggy bag :)
- we eat the doggy bag for lunch Tuesday.)

An another wonderful day in Seattle ! :)

Weekend 3: October 19th-21st

Friday before the highschool football game:
Victor´s host mom has invited us to pizza before the game. There were many different pizzas - it tasted really good and our stomachs were full.

It is very interesting to meet others host families and see how they live.
We talked with Victor´s neighbour. He is an interesting person. We talked about instincts in human being, he told us about when a person uses his animal - and human instincts (because a person has to different kind of instincts.) We also talked about how controlled we are by our thoughts. Some people believe in God and others believe in some others power. Some people can told themselves that they are ill and they will feel ill without being it, because they believe that they are ill.

 The highschool football game:
(The orchestra)

(Everybody was happy and jolly. We were excited to experience a highschool football game. Mathias sat next to me - it was nice because he plays (American) football, so he explains the rules. :) )
(The game was the last homecoming game.)

(There were to teams of cheerleader (junior and senior). You can see the junior cheerleader team on the picture. The junior cheerleader dance and cheer while they played, and senior cheerleader dance and cheer in the half time. The girls at the picture cheer in two hours and they were drenched with rain, but they looked happy and smiled in two hours. I´m impressed.)

(The blue team (the team we support) lose, but it was a unforgettable experience.)
Saturday:
About 10 people and Victor´s host brother Ben went to Seattle Premium Outlet. After using a lot of money at Outlet, the class has decided to eat dinner at Red Robin to celebrate Alexander´s birthday. Some of the waiters song birthday song for him and he get a free dessert.
(Red Robin - we waiting for our burgers.)

We talked about the situation* that happened last evening. I really appreciate that we travel together as a group. We can have fun together, we can experience something together and we can support each other !

*Four boys from the class were threatened by a gun last evening after the football game and they gave them their money.

 Sunday:
I went to church with Stine´s host family. I experienced the spirit of community in a church. There were not hymnbooks, there were a screen with the lyrics and there was a band, who played and song. The minister in the church talked about find our own identity. We compared ourselves with others - we "hate" people if they are better than us and sometimes we feel guilty if we are better than other. We have to accept our own identity and ourselves without comparing.

Weekend: 12th - 14th October
12th October:
Seattle downtown with the whole class.

Space Needle (a symbol of the city):
(Space Needle was built in 1962 and is a 650 feet high observation tower.)

We enjoy the beautiful view from the top of Space Needle:

We enjoy Seattle downtown on the ground:

Starbucks opned its first store in 1971 in Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle. I visit the original Starbucks:

(I buy a souvenir.)
 The Gum Wall:

(I also make a touch with my own gum on the Gum Wall.)

When we went back to the school, many from the class decide to eat together in Alderwood Mall and then bowl.
(Camilla has fun in the bowling center.)

After bowling I sleep with Stine. I meet her host family - they are sweet and open-minded.

13th October:
We join the school event ice skating.

Some were better(especially Camilla the ice princess) than others, but we have fun :)
