Vancouver: November 10 th-12th

Vancouver

(Expectant and happy girls, who spent the next three days in Canada.)

Saturday:
Capilano Suspension Bridge:

On the suspension bridge:

I can´t describe how beautiful and amazing it was... pictures describe more than thousands word.

(It was colder in Vancouver than in Seattle.)

What to do in the time we waited for the bus?
(We took pictures and had fun = I alway enjoy being in good company.)

Enjoyed the city:

Yoghurt ice cream with fruit for dessert:

Sunday: Veterans day (in Canada) and they have Veterans day in US tomorrow
Veterans day is a day, which honors people, who have served in the armed service.

Stanley Park:
(Many people wore this flower made of plastic, and we got one as a souvenir.)

Granville island:

(It is similar to the Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle - all kinds of delicious food.)

(Mums... tasty)

Aquarium:
We spent many hours at this wonderfull aquarium. We saw a 4D-movie about salmon.
(Camilla liked to spend her time together with Stine and me in the aquarium in Vancouver.)

(Sea lions)

Dolphin show:

(I can´t remember the name.)

(Turtle)

 Chinatown in Vancouver:

Gastown - The Vancouver steam-clock:
(It´s one of the popular sights that people take pictures of when they visit - and we were one of the people, who took a picture.)

 Olympic Stadium in Vancouver:

Monday:
Brunch before four hours long bus tour back to US:

We have some unforgettable days in Vancouver !!!

Weekend: November 2nd-4th

Friday:
After school I went to the premium Outlet. We have checked the bus schedule and the time of departure fitted perfectly. We have to take three busses and it will take about two hours. We arrived with the second bus fourteen minutes before the third or "last" bus will drive. We wait.. wait and wait - and the bus doesn´t come. Sometimes the bus was late. We wait about 75 minutes before the next bus comes (I guess that the bus was out of order). I have really realize how much you are addicted to people you don´t know and people you just have known for a short time. At home you can take our bicycle and you know that always can call our parents and they will help you.

Saturday:
We went to downtown Seattle:
(We spend some hours at Public Place Market.)

(Cecilia, Nanna, Stine, Sara and me buy bagels with different taste in Seattle bagel bakery.
Cheap price: 6 bagels 5$)

(Enjoy the view.)

Waterfall garden:

Pioneer Square Park:

We eat dinner at Hard Rock Cafe:

Sunday:
Today is the day: Seahawks vs. Vikings.
In Seattle we buy these Seahawks t-shirts, so the fans are ready and excited!
All the fans are the twelfth player, because the fans support and scream to loud that the opponent can´t hear what their coach say.
Observation: In Denmark the fans from the different teams are divided, but here the fans from the two teams sit together.

Nova Nordisk a Danish company was principal sponsor of the game.

An audience of 65,584, who make a good atmosphere.

I understand the rules :)
The game was interesting and has a happy ending, because Seahawks win 30-20!

An unforgettable day and I can´t describe this experience in words but I know when I get the opportunity to see an American football game again I will do it. I love American football !!

Week 5

Wednesday:
We have interpersonal communication class today. In these classes (we only have two) we take part in these communication classes with other students from Edmonds. We learn about your use of choice of words and body language, when we communicate with other people. We also talk about definitions of never, seldom, almost and ever and we draw the conclusion that it depends context; geographic location, the quantity etc.. We are in small groups talking about the comparison and difference between American culture and Danish culture.
Every time I have told an American that
1) we pay high taxes; it free to take an education and go the doctor/hospital
2) we can drink alcohol, when we are 16 and 18 years old
3) the American presidential election also has a big impact on Denmark and Europe (we hear much about it in the television)
--> they are surprised :)

Some of the students wear Halloween costumes to school (some of the students are parents and about 30 years old). Today is Halloween!

(Children go around in the neighborhood; they knock on the door and say: "Trick or Treat". They have to wear costumes and then we got candy.)

(Hostmom Pam and hostsister Kotoe eating dinner Halloween evening. We eat almost "Danish" food; steak, vegetables and potatoes and milk chocolate to dessert.)

Thursday:
Today we went to a school trip on Boing; the Future of Flight.

(See the Danish flag)

There were a souvenir shop and an exhibition of the seats in the airplanes, airplane engine etc.

(Stine envious of people, who (pay a lots of money) fly on 1st class.)

We have a guide tour:
We heard about all the different types of airplanes, the company and the process to build an airplane. This company has their own doctor, fire station and police - and extreme many workers (three teams, which mean they work on the airplanes the whole day.) There are bicycles, then the workers have the opportunity to cycle from one place to another, because the building is huge.

(The airplane, you can see at the picture, is called "Dream Lifter"
and transports some parts to the new airplanes.)

(The building, you can see at the picture, is the biggest building by volume. The new airplanes are built in this building.)

If you will order an airplane, it will be finish in 2019, but as their slogan says: "If it is not Boing, I´m not going."

It was very interesting to hear about the whole process of build and develop a new airplane and see, how so many people/workers can work together in one building.

A worth-while and good experience!

Weekend: October 26th-28th

Friday: Halloween party
Instead of saying halfway done, I say halfway left. On the side I can´t understand that I have been here in a one month but on the other side I think I have been here over a month, because I have so many unforgettable experience in this month - so I looking forward to another month in United States with more fantastic experiences.

Only one class today, which was Study Lab = a really nice day in school. After school we went to Alderwood Mall. Simone, Line and Trine went to the Mall after physics lab. We met each other and ate "dinner" at Blazing Onion about 3:00 PM.
(We join and dress up at Simone´s host mom´s house before the Halloween Party at the school.)

The popular/well-known Danish class at Edmonds Community College to the Halloween Party:
(Believe it or not but we ask some student to take this picture of the whole class but in 2 second there were about 30 other students taking pictures of us. We are famous! :) And many people ask you: "Can I take a picture with you?" I have experienced that Asian people like taking pictures. )

I was impressed that everyone has found a nice costume. There were five categories of best costume; most scary, sexiest, most sustainable, most inventive and best overall. Annica(cow) won the most sustainable, Mathias won sexiest and Jeppe, Nicklas and Tobias won best overall. Proud of my classmates !
We dance and have fun to the Halloween party :)

Saturday: Hiking
First stop was Snoqualmie Falls:

Next stop Rattlesnake Ledge, where we went hiking:

(If you look close you can see a smile on my face. I like spending an afternoon in the nature; hiking to the top of the mountain with my classmates.)

(Some people weren´t optimistic as me, because sometimes there were rises in the ground it was hard for some people, they get rapid pulse or lactic acid in their legs, maybe they have eaten too many burgers or haven´t exercise (haha) but everyone hike to the top.)

On the top of Rattlesnake Ledge:
(We ate lunch(pizza, sandwich, chips and nuts - a big lunch bag) at the top.)

(It was rainy and foggy but anyway there was a beautiful view.)

Good weekend full of new experiences !
